1st February 2018
You may be aware that on the 15th of February, Grassmoor, Hasland, Winsick, Corbriggs and Temple Normanton will be voting for a new Councillor to represent them on North East Derbyshire District Council.
Historically, like most of you, I have voted Labour – but what have they done to represent the residents of Grassmoor in all those years?
The Labour candidate said it best on his leaflet when he said: ‘areas like Grassmoor have been forgotten’ – but what he failed to mention is that we have had a Labour representative at every level of government for decades.
The Tories are cutting a staggering £12 million from the County Council budget; with £7 million of cuts hitting those most in need in adult care and children’s services. They are forcefully shifting the burden of local services from central government to local authorities.
While Labour want to shift the burden from local authorities to you and me, because they have failed to balance the books.
Elections in Grassmoor are between the Lib Dems and Labour; and at this election, I will be giving the Lib Dem candidate, Ben Marshall, my vote for real action and positive change.
The Liberal Democrats are offering you a real alternative solution to housing and local services in our area. A councillor who will work to get the very best for our local community.
Please join me and break from tradition to use your vote to elect Lib Dem candidate Ben Marshall as your representative on Thursday, 15th February 2018.
Postal votes arrive in the next couple of days – please return it as soon as possible.
PS: Elections in Grassmoor ward are between the Lib Dems and Labour, a vote for the conservatives will only mean Labour win – resulting in many more forgotten years for Grassmoor.
If you want to support Ben’s campaign to be the next District Council for the Grassmoor ward; contact firstname.lastname@example.org – we are always looking for more places to have Lib Dem garden signs. You can donate by visiting: www.nedbd-libdems.com/donate
