Swinson secures Govt pledge to be clearer on parental leave

Jo Swinson MP, Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrats, has claimed victory in her bid to ensure that Government departments publish parental leave and pay policies and she is now calling on employers to act too. Following analysis by the Liberal Democrats which uncovered that only four departments had published paternity, maternity, shared parental and adoption leave arrangements on their websites, the Government has pledged to publish these details for all departments. Jo Swinson has now set her sights on ensuring employers act too. The former Employment Relations Minister is currently pursuing a Private Member’s Bill which would require employers with more than 250 employees to publish information about parental leave and pay entitlements.
