Lynne is the former Liberal Democrat MP for Hornsey & Wood Green, and a former Minister in both the Home Office and the Department for International Development. She was one of the chief architects of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2014 and is currently the Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Energy and Climate Change.
This week, she will discuss fracking and what that means for our local area with Eckington Against Fracking and other anti fracking groups. They will all then make their way to the proposed fracking site at Marsh Lane, Eckington.
North Derbyshire Liberal Democrats Chair, Sam Jones said: “The Lib Dem’s are commited to reducing the reliance on fossil fuels and to invest heavily in different forms of renewable energy – this means categorically banning fracking.”
He added: To have Lynne join us on the front line here in North East Derbyshire shows that she is also committed as the Lib Dem spokesperson to speaking to local people and finding out their experiences of the fracking industry.”
